Since forming in north-east England 50 years ago the Brodsky have performed well over 3000 concerts and have released more than 60 recordings: their energy and craftsmanship have attracted numerous awards. They are joined by British cellist, Laura van der Heijden, who won the BBC Young Musician of the Year Competition in 2012.

Known for her wonderfully expressive playing, this exciting young artist will be making her Ilkley Concert Club debut. They will play together Schubert’s sublime string quintet, his last piece of chamber music. Bach starts the concert and is followed by one of Shostakovich’s most personal quartets based on his DSCH motif.
